Very Well Written! Good Book for any Career Success Class. January 11, 2010 ZionBaby (Washington, DC) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered this textbook for a Career Success Class at school and was overall pleased with its presentation. It gives you a basic guideline to help you identify your career needs and how to approach them. I am sue there are other books that are just as good or better, but this one did its job, so I am satisfied.
Making the best choice. September 1, 2010 ladybear
Have ordered a lot from Amazon & when my daughter needed a book for her college class,(namely, "The Career Fitness Program",) I suggested she look to Amazon for the best deal. We both were more than pleased with the book she received, its condition as well as the price compared to the college bookstore. My daughter was doubly pleased when she went to her first class & discovered that the bookstore had sold the wrong edition to a lot of the students in her class. She was one of the few to have the correct book. Thanks Amazon for offering the service you do. Keep up the good work.
Ok but not great.... January 16, 2010 Alex Wolf (San Diego, CA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I got this book because it was the required textbook for a community college career-planning class I took. At first glance, it's a pretty plain and uninspiring book, and having read the entire thing cover-to-cover, I didn't find anything inside that changed my mind about it.
This book really read like a required-basic-course textbook that seemed mainly directed at unimaginatively guiding students into the traditional labor-oriented workforce. It is presented as a workbook, with perforations for tear-out pages for exercises, none of which was particularly enlightening.
I'd suspect that almost anything else out there would be more engaging to read and more helpful for someone really interested in figuring out what they'd like to do for a living.
