New York Governers Race
The first observation I made during this debate was that John Faso was the aggressor. He made a lot of political and personal attacks at Elliot Spitzer which left Spitzer making comebacks. Spitzer did keep his cool as opposed to Faso who seemed to be a little on edge. Regardless of that, Spitzer did on a number of times go over his allotted time in rebuttles to Faso's argments which made it seem as if he needed to explain himself too much. In my opinion, if someone needs to carry on 10 seconds plus over the allotted amount of time they are trying to make it seem as if they are in the right and not actually there. One issue raised that I really cared about was the tax issue. Being from NY, the taxes are brutal. I liked the fact that Faso had the intentions of cutting income taxes as well as other taxes. The point was brought up that many native New Yorkers are leaving because of the taxes (which is true). I thought Faso addressed these issues with better ideas than Spitzer. I think I have my mind made up about who I will vote for.
