Live From Chicago: Democratic Candidates at YearlyKos 2007

In the comments on this thread I'll be blogging live from the Presidential Forum at the YearlyKos Convention being held at McCormick Place in Chicago today. Obama, Hillary, Richardson, Edwards, Dodd, and Gravel will be there. Biden ran into a scheduling conflict (book tour?) and I am not sure why Kucinich is not here.

The forum starts at 1 pm CST, there is a live video stream, and C-Span and CNN are taping (not sure when they will air what they tape).

I'll be focusing as much or more on the questions as on the answers, especially since I got a chance to talk to the people who are asking the questions and reported it here.

YearlyKos Presidential Forum Questioners -- Following the YouTube Act

[editor's note, by Ross Smith] Cross posted at Huffington Post's "Off the Bus" site.

If the YouTube debate taught nothing else it was that the questions and the questioners matter. So I sat down for a brief interview with each of the questioners for today's YearlyKos Presidential Forum to ask them what is uppermost in their minds as they prepare their questions. New York Times Magazine journalist Matt Bai, Daily Kos "front pager," Joan McCarter a.k.a. mcjoan, and Daily Kos diarist and Frameshop blogger, Jeffrey Feldman, play the roles as questioners that are crucial to the success of the forum. They have help from the blogosphere at large which is already sharing the credit for attracting the field of candidates that includes every Democrat except Joe Biden and Dennis Kucinich, but blame will not likely be so easily shared.

A Busy Week in Debate and For Me (you can help, too!)

This comes to you from a cafe in the town I grew up in, LaGrange, Illinois. I'm here not just to visit my sister's family, but for you, too.

I'll be taking in the Democratic Presidential forum at YearlyKos in Chicago on Saturday and then jumping in the car for a five hour drive to Des Moines, IA for the ABC News GOP debate moderated by George Stephanopoulos scheduled for Sunday morning at 8 CST.

I'll be able to bring you behind the scenes looks at both of these events. I could use three kinds of help from you. First, tell me in the comments what you would like to ask and of whom if you had access to the spin rooms and the press. Second, as you are surfing and searching for interesting articles on these upcoming events, please tag them in del.icio.us with "debatescoop" and "DesMoines" or "YearlyKos". Third, write something. Anyone can create an account and post a diary. I promote the best (anything good since our readers are an elite bunch) to the front page.

By the way, George wants your help, too.
